Extra Credit: THE PURGE: ELECTION YEAR (Home Video Review)

Who’s ready to be smashed in the face with a heavy cudgel of political satire? Our election is enough of a joke as it stands, but first we have THE PURGE: ELECTION YEAR!

Join Sergio and Brennan as they review the film in honor of its Blu-Ray/DVD release, discuss its place among the franchise as a whole, and take on the Sisyphean task of attempting to decide which line of dialogue is most racist.

Month 2: First Films

It’s our second month of season 2, but it’s also October so we’re going with a special theme this month: First Films. That’s right, we’ll be exploring famous directors whose first time behind the camera was at the helm of a horror movie. Things are gonna get wet and wild.

Join Sergio and Brennan as they discuss surprising skeletons in directors’ closets, Halloween costumes, and what they’re looking forward to this month!

Vampire Month: Exit Exam

So, it’s the end of the first month of Scream 101 season 2. Fall has sprung, the leaves are turning brown in other parts of the world that aren’t Southern California, and Count Dracula is thanking his unlucky stars for the shorter, less sunny days.

In this episode, we review our month of vampire film-watchin’, find out what we learned, and play a little game to test our bloodsucking knowledge. Be sure to join us next month for a special October extravaganza!

Vampire Month #4: VAMPYRES (1974)

We couldn’t let vampire month go by without exploring the majorly important subgenre of lesbian vampire flicks! There’s a fine line between lecher and film historian, I can tell you that. For our final week we visit the 1974 British shocker VAMPYRES.

Join us as we review the film, attempt to play our vampire Bingo, and find out just how boring British cinema really was in the 70’s!

Extra Credit: BLAIR WITCH (Theatrical Review)

Who’s ready for some red hot takes, fresh from the oven? Sergio and Brennan hit the bricks to bring you a review of this weekend’s theatrical release BLAIR WITCH, directed by Adam Wingard and written by Simon Barrett.

Join us as we review the film, discuss its place in the franchise as a whole, and learn a little bit about film history along the way! Maybe?

We know there have been a lot of episodes this week, but things are gonna calm down until the end of the month. No promises for October, you guys.

Vampire Month #3: FRIGHT NIGHT (1985)

It's week 3 of vampire month, and we’re beginning to get a little paranoid. We’re seeing vampires in the shadows, in our dreams, and we even see them next door! This week’s episode on 1985’s FRIGHT NIGHT does nothing to assuage our fears of neighborly bloodsuckers.

Join us as we review the film, gossip about the neighbors, and discuss the lurid underbelly of vampirism in the suburbs!

Extra Credit: THE CONJURING 2 (Home Video Review)

We know it's the middle of Vampire month, but it's time to take A break from the bloodsucking and take a quick journey over to England for a very special bonus episode covering THE CONJURING 2, now on DVD, Blu-Ray, and Ultraviolet (probably).

Join us as we review the fiLm, discuss the death of sitcoms, and gush about that fateful water scene about as much as the pipes in the basement gush brackish sludge. See you this weEKend for FRIGHT NIGHT!

Vampire Month #2: LET THE RIGHT ONE IN (2008)

It’s our second week of Vampire Month and we hope you’ve picked the right podcast to let into your earbuds. This week we’re discussing the 2008 Swedish film LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, a dark romance about a young boy who falls in love with vampire next door. So like Twilight! But gender-swapped. And actually good.

Join us as we review the film, make more selections for our Bingo cards, and discuss the freezing plains of Sweden to pretend that it’s not so miserably hot where we are.

Vampire Month #1: DRACULA (1931)

Welcome back, children of the night. Welcome to our first official review episode of season 2! For the first weekend of Vampire Month, we tackle the biggest and baddest of them all: 1931's DRACULA! Emphasis on the bad.

...Turns out the movie isn't so great. Who knew? Join us as we discuss the film, fill out the first section on our Bingo cards, and question a horror legacy.

Scream 101 Season 2: A New Beginning

Episode 52: The Final Chapter

For the last episode of Scream 101 season 1, we send Shannon off with the Seattle-based haunted house movie THE CHANGELING! Join us as we review the film, imitate a seance so well we freak ourselves out, and see if we successfully spooked Shannon. And don't touch that dial! Stay tuned for exclusive details on season 2!

Fun Fact: One of Brennan's ten word reviews is actually eleven words! Can you find which one? #Elevengate
