#49: THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN (2014)

In our newest episode, we chat about the Jason Blum & Ryan Murphy produced sequel The Town That Dreaded Sundown. This beautiful but mostly unseen film takes the original true crime proto-slasher it is based on and turns it into a full-blown slasher. 1976's The Town That Dreaded Sundown is a proto-slasher that creates a stunning killer in it's Phantom but loses its suspense on slapstick comedy bits. We dive into those elements and go kill by kill to discuss how this film influenced the slasher genre.

#47: SORORITY ROW (2009)

This week Bee & Ryan tackle one of the aught slasher remakes, 2009's Sorority Row directed by Stewart Hendler and starring Briana Evigan, Leah Pipes, Rumor Willis, Carrie Fisher and a slew of other people you will recognize.

They go kill by kill and talk themes of sisterhood, the unique ways a lug wrench can be used to kill someone and the clever nods to the original.

MINISODE American Horror Story 1984: Episode 1

In the summer of 1984, five friends escape Los Angeles to work as counselors at Camp Redwood. As they adjust to their new jobs, they quickly learn that the only thing scarier than campfire tales is the past coming to haunt you.

American Horror Story is back for season 9 and this year they've embraced the 80's slasher. In this first episode, Bee & Ryan dive into the characters and go kill by kill to examine the plot. They identify some of their favorite slasher tropes already used and hypothesize what's to come!

#46: THE HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW (1983)

Ryan and Bee celebrate back to school with one of the original college teen screams, 1983's House on Sorority Row. This whodunnit is a beautifully filmed slasher complete with sorority girls, a prank gone wrong and a den mother with a mysterious past. Bee & Ryan go to camp this week, Cheerleader Camp that is. Listen as they discuss this Leif Garret staring slasher that has some awesome surrealist dream sequences, decent kills, a final girl gone "crazy" & plenty of misogynistic themes to dive into.

We go over every aspect of the movie, the movie within the movie, all the amazing easter eggs and what makes this meta slasher different from others in the genre.

#43: THE CARPENTER (1988) w/ Aaron Dries & Brennan Klein

This week Ryan & Bee are joined by Aaron Dries & Brennan Klein for a very special episode dissecting 1988's The Carpenter. This Wings Hauser led Canadian slasher has a lot more to unpack than you would think and our hosts really dive into it. We talk kills, quirky dialogue, character motives, and even who we would cast if we remade the film. (Somebody, please, pay us to remake this film)

#42: I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER (1998)

This week Ryan and Bee tackle the 1998 sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. They dissect the film and analyze what makes this sequel so lackluster, and frankly, bad. We will give you a hint: it's missing Kevin Williamson.

#40: FRIDAY THE 13TH (1980)

Ryan and Bee are back after a small break and in a big way. Before the pop culture check in, they break down some new and exciting news, both personal and podcast wise. During the check in, Ryan has seen some new theatrical releases, both genre and not, while Bee takes a trip back through her visit into the Child's Play franchise and both saw a new Netflix release. Finally, a full blown dig into one of the most decorated and celebrated slashers of all time, Friday the 13th.

Bee has done a TV binge on two vastly different networks and Ryan covered a variety of films, ranging from children's movie to classic ghost story. Then, they dive into FALL BREAK! Wait, we mean...THE MUTILATOR!
